The latest Dragon Ball Daima episode continues to redefine the franchise with jaw-dropping revelations regarding fan-favorite characters. Episode 8 — on top of delivering an excellent fight between Goku (Mini) and Tamagami #3 — reveals who was really behind the diabolic creation of Majin Buu.
In Dragon Ball Z, the birth of Majin Buu was attributed to an evil “alien” wizard named Bibidi, the father of Babidi. While he’s credited for Majin Buu’s creation in the anime and manga, Akira Toriyama returned on this detail in a June 2014 Issue (May 2, 2014) of Saikyo Jump. According to the late Toriyama, Bibidi merely woke Majin Buu from his slumber. In actuality, the pink menace had “existed since time immemorial.” After 10 years, Dragon Ball Daima Episode 8 follows up on this interesting detail by revealing who really created the evil Majin Buu.
Marba, a witch-like Majin, is revealed to be the creator of Majin Buu in Dragon Ball Daima Episode 8. The beautiful but cunning Dr. Arinsu comes to this shocking revelation after turning to the old demon witch for help in her quest to become the next ruler of the Demon Realm. Marba denies this credit at first, but after it’s revealed that the creation of Majin Buu led to countless deaths and evacuations of the Demon Realm, it’s understandable why she doesn’t want to boast about this accomplishment. Despite the horrific outcome, Marba agrees to create another Majin Buu — one that will (hopefully) follow Arinsu’s command without question.

Dragon Ball Daima Episode 8 also revealed that Arinsu was present during Vegeta’s explosive sacrifice. The demonic scientist captured a piece of Majin Buu while he was regenerating and has been using this sample for experiments. Although Majin Buu isn’t dead, his evil side has been long gone since he separated himself from that dastardly persona following the temporary loss of Mr. Hercule Satan and his dog. That evil side of Majin Buu evolved into Super Buu before transforming into his ultimate form, the chaotic Kid Buu. Kid Buu, the greatest adversary the Z-warrior ever fought against in Dragon Ball Z, is what Dr. Arinsu wants to control. During Marba’s little ritual, visual hints of Majin Buu’s evil forms can be seen during the summoning.
While it’s too early to tell for sure, Dragon Ball Daima appears to be teasing a new version of Majin Buu — possibly an alternate version of Kid Buu. This wouldn’t be the first time Dragon Ball has brought back a classic villain, as the Hulk-like Cell Max was introduced in Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero, to say nothing of Golden Frieza and the forthcoming arrival of Black Frieza in the Dragon Ball Super manga.
New episodes of Dragon Ball Daima will be available every Friday on Crunchyroll at 9 a.m. PT. Crunchyroll describes the brand-new series: “Goku and company were living peaceful lives when they suddenly turned small due to a conspiracy! When they discover that the reason for this may lie in a world known as the ‘Demon Realm,’ a mysterious young Majin named Glorio appears before them.”
