The official Twitter (formerly X) account for Kōhei Horikoshi’s My Hero Academia manga announced on Wednesday that the series’ 42nd and final volume will feature 38 additional pages of new content set after the original ending. Shueisha is set to release the volume in Japan on December 4.
My Hero Academia first debuted in Weekly Shonen Jump in July 2014 and concluded on August 5, 2023. The manga, which has surpassed 100 million copies in circulation worldwide as of April, is published in English both digitally and in print by Viz Media. Additionally, Shueisha’s MANGA Plus platform provides digital English translations for readers.
On the anime front, the seventh season of My Hero Academia was officially announced after the sixth season wrapped up in March 2023. Fans also received a four-episode special titled My Hero Academia Memories, featuring some new scenes, which premiered on April 6. The highly anticipated seventh season kicked off on May 4, beginning with episode 139 of the overall series. The anime continues to air on YTV and NTV in Japan every Saturday at 5:30 p.m. (4:30 a.m. EDT), with Crunchyroll streaming the episodes for international audiences.
The anime is getting a final season in 2025.
My Hero Academia: You’re Next, the fourth anime film in the My Hero Academia franchise, opened in Japan on August 2. The film is screening in IMAX, MX4D, 4DX, and Dolby Cinema. TOHO International opened the film in U.S. theaters on October 11. The film is available with English subtitles and dub releases.
